EMBRAPA IN TROPICAL AGRICULTURE

EMBRAPA IN TROPICAL AGRICULTURE offers the reader two important moments in Brazilian Agribusiness: the start of operations of Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária, starting in April 1973; and, half a century later, a portrait of this trajectory and the impact of public research on the use of scientific and technological knowledge by small to large producers in all sectors of Agribusiness and Brazilian society.
The content illustrates the work of the institution, which has always had science as an instrument for action in the victorious journey toward sustainable development of the farming and livestock sector. With 180 images and valuable updated information, it presents a broad and original description of Embrapa’s scientific action and the results of the first fifty years. It also points out the multiple challenges for the future, which include sustainability and social inclusion.
