REVOLUTIONS - THEORETICAL, COMPARATIVE AND HISTORICAL STUDIES

Readings collected here were chosen to introduce the main episodes of revolutionary struggles in the past and present, and to stimulate thought and discussion about revolution in terms of social theory, historical events, and contemporary politics. The first part of the book provides both classic statements and the latest approaches to the theoretical understanding of revolutions and revolutionary movements, including structural models, studies of ideology and leadership, and the role of gender issues. The second part of the book provides brief accounts of major revolutionary episodes around the world, grouped according to various types of revolution.
